I was at the press day for the latest exhibition at the glorious Compton Verney. Gardener/artist Dan Pearson has created a vast Morris inspired wild flower meadow . Compton Verney was the brave creation of castaway Sir Peter Moores. Why brave?  Compton Verney is in the middle of nowhere, only accessible by road . Peter said that it is however within 50 miles of a quarter of the population of   the UK. Outside it is a perfect eighteenth century house in Capability Brown grounds but inside it is a state of the art modern gallery. A beautiful day out. I sent its current director Steven Parissien to join Sir Peter on Oxtopia. He’s been doing a great job developing the grounds as well as the gallery.
